Stephen is the CEO & founder of Ptarmigan Collective, which offers regenerative travel solutions to foster thriving communities and vibrant regional economies. In previous roles, he worked on outdoor recreation development for Travel Oregon, managed outdoor programs and community partnerships for REI Co-Op, and led conservation and restoration efforts  for the Forest Park Conservancy. He also taught high school level natural science and led expeditions for the High Mountain Institute in Leadville, Colorado. 
 

Stephen has a MS in Environmental Education from Lesley University, and a MBA in Sustainability from Bainbridge Graduate Institute. He also serves on the board of Greater Hells Canyon Council, and on the steering committee of the Oregon Trails Coalition. 
 

An avid trail runner, backcountry skier, and backpacker, Stephen lives in SW Portland with his wife, two daughters, and chocolate lab Tilly Jane.
