As the owner of an outdoor industry business in Oregon, do you find yourself wanting to connect with like minded individuals that share similar challenges? From big to small topics, OOA helps create a space for a productive conversation led by trusted industry leaders. This is the Outdoor Industry Roundtable. 

Setting The Industry Table

Oregon’s outdoor industry makes up roughly $8.4B of Oregon’s overall GDP and contributes more than 70,000 jobs to the workforce. It’s safe to say that Oregon is abundant with opportunities and unique pathways for enterprising business leaders, designers, guides and everything in between.

Across her vast mountain ranges and star-filled night skies, there are distinct pockets of industry in areas like Portland, Bend, Hood River with their own cultures, recreation and landscapes. Keeping with our mission to connect and cultivate, OOA came to the conclusion that a table needed to be set in these regions to engage these brands in resourceful conversations that help raise the tides for all ships in the harbor.

If You Build It, They Will Come

In Portland, we stay closely connected to our partners at Prosper Portland Athletic & Outdoor to help deliver meaningful resources, events and professional connections to one of the biggest hot spots of the outdoor industry in our state.

By utilizing this partnership, we were able to launch our first ever Outdoor Industry Roundtable on January 29th at Kiln Coworking in Portland which brought roughly 20 different outdoor brands together to chat about what the future of this roundtable could look like. To really bring this event over the top we connected with our partners at the Outdoor Industry Association to assist in sponsoring the event giving it a strong foundation.

Since then we have held four additional Roundtable events diving deep into topics like tariffs, talent acquisition, ecommerce marketing and manufacturing best practices bringing in professionals from brands including:

  • Keen Footwear
  • Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP)
  • Ecommerce NW
  • Noto Group

Into The Future

With such great success in Portland throughout 2025 we are excited to announce that OOA plans to launch the Outdoor Industry Roundtable in more chapters in 2026 including Bend, and Southern Oregon! We have identified other brand hotspots in these regions and plan to cater to them with relevant topics and speakers that help get the conversations started and leave room for collaborative opportunities. If you have engaged with OOA in the past and are located in one of these two regions, you will most likely receive an invitation from us as we get the initial guest lists started.
